What's the deal with this Freedom Munitions ammo? Is it any good?

While we're on the topic of hollow point ammo. Can anyone explain to me why it is significantly more expensive than FMJ?

You could always pick one up online and just pay a local shop's transfer fee. Should be able to get a G19 online for like $500-550.

That's what I'm looking for. Training without a major time commitment outside of a catastrophe.

RTSP has then in stock. I think they wanted $575-580 for them. Better prices can be found both in store and online if you're looking for a bargain.

I once had a clerk in a small LGS tell me they usually didn't carry HP ammo "because it's illegal."

When I worked retail I made a fair amount of on the fly minor price changes to keep customers at the register happy. I'm talking a few cents here and there when they thought something was on sale and it wasn't ringing up correctly. The managers were OK with it and it kept many customers coming back.

Once in high school a classmate asked me if I needed any electronics, laptops, ipods, etc. I said no but I asked where he was able to get them from (I knew it sure wasn't anything legal). He told me he had a friend who worked as a baggage handler at Newark Airport.

Thanks for the input. Right now I have a Beretta 92A1... I have a permit in hand right now which will be going to a Glock 19 whenever I get around to going out and buying one. I was reading that Glock factory sights are a bargain if you send your slide to them for the install.

Looking to pick up night sites for my handguns. This is a totally new experience for me. What brands do you all like? What is "the best?" How much should I be looking to spend on the best quality? Thanks for the feedback and information.

When I first went there I didn't have to watch a video. Myself and my friend who had never fired a gun before just filled out the forms and were sent out onto the range.

This question comes up often on here.. I asked it myself a while back. For where I am located in North NJ close to Manhattan the answer is essentially no.

Did he have the keys to the car? Even if the car is not running, being inside the car with the keys is enough for a DUI in NJ.

Thoughts? What's the best bang for your buck AR under a grand? Uses are fun at the range and preparation for the zombie apocalypse.

I'm not doubting you guys who question the effectiveness of the 5.7 round... but doesn't the Secret Service use FiveSevens? Now they use the "real" 5.7 ammo I'm sure, could that be the difference? SS190 I think it's called. Anyway I shot my friend's FiveSeven a few times. It's a cool gun but I wouldn't spend $1200 on it.

I agree with you. If I had plenty of disposable income I'd always support local. I try to buy American in general as much as possible. In my experience though not all LGS are willing to haggle. I will try what you suggested though. If a LGS can get close enough I'll buy from them.

The sales tax issue is the primary reason why buying "out of state online" is so much cheaper. That and there is a LGS near me that does transfers for $35 including NICS.
