  1. that's good enough, at least if that was my AR lol
  2. No, it IS like that. it's 90 days from the date written in the "issued" block on the p2p's... Mine was written in 11/20, but I didn't actually get the p2p's for almost another 3 weeks after that.
  3. The permits (and my updated FID) had an "issued" date of 11/20, but I didn't get a call to come get them until 12/10 (picked them up the next day on the 11th). 20 days they were "ready" and just sitting on someone's desk before I got a call. So being that they expire in 90 days w/o requesting an extension, they would have expired yesterday.
  4. If you don't need the toe protection, I have a pair of Magnums and a pair of UA Valsetz that both feel like you're wearing sneakers. Not too great in regards to protection, but super light and comfy.
  5. Wtf?? what if you don't have a passport?? did you tell them you had a passport, how do they know if you even have one??
  6. I also recently had to go through an NJSP barracks. They were an absolute joke, unfortunately. I had called at one point for an update, as you did, and got a similar line about how "they were just getting back applications sent to Trenton in May of 2015 (this was November)." After submitting the complaint and receiving my permits, I noticed the issuance date was WEEKS before I had even had that conversation with the Sgt("issued"11/20, update requested 12/3, complaint filed 12/8, received permits 12/11). There's a very real possibility that my completed change of address/p2p's were sitting on his desk, no more than 2 feet from him as he told me it would be another 3-4 months. Un-f*cking acceptable. Is it possible that FL is really the hold up? Possibly. But from my experience, things magically get done when you start bitching to one's superior about them not doing their jobs. (Edited to put in correct dates)
  7. Shit, I went on a week long vacation down in Holden Beach, NC over the summer. At the beginning of my week down there, I found a sale going on at one of the local gun stores, a case of 12x 30 round p-mags for something like $80. I went and got them, then ordered magblocks and epoxy from that website, and chose an option that made sure thy would get there before I had to come home. I then called the company and explained the whole situation to them. The lady was very polite, and said she would make sure they would go out the next day, to ensure they arrived on time. 2 days before I left, I blocked, epoxied, and pinned 12 pmags to nj compliance for something like $110, including shipping.
  8. Just make them yourself http://www.magazineblocks.com/magento/products/magblock-kits/ak47/ak-74-10-30-magblock-5-45x39.html
  9. Go on the governor's website and submit a formal complaint.
  10. This is one of the most accurate statements I've seen on these forums lol
  11. I like Powers Irish Whiskey. Nothing fancy or expensive, but I'm not a fancy or expensive guy. lol.
  12. Can always pick up an H3 buffer for cheap and give it a shot. Or just buy the weight and put it in your current buffer. Only other advice I have, and I don't really advise it, is to get a longer buffer spring and start cutting links out little by little until you get the desired ejection pattern. Quite frankly, I'd get a heavier buffer (H3) and call it a day.
  13. Been in there a few times, always a pleasant experience. Apparently the guy who runs the counter worked with my father-in-law at NJDOC. That was a pleasant but long experience as I waited patiently for them to catch up. lol. Last time I was in there I picked up some bullet heads but didn't even ask about powder... anyone know off the top of their head if they carry it and/or primers?
  14. I assembled one early last year for my Father-in-Law to mimic his gun from the military, right after Vietnam. Was going for an A1. Because of NJ's laws, couldn't do the 3 prong FH like it's supposed to have. I also screwed up and put an A2 upper on it, which I didn't realize until it was completely done. Father-in-law didn't notice, and when I told him, didn't care. lol. I think I found my triangular HG's at Oaks at Sarco's table if I remember correctly...
  15. That was me. 3 days after filing the complaint I had my permits, even though I had been told it would be 3-4 more months. The approach apparently worked for the other guy that I had told to do it also, got his back in 2 days after submitting the formal complaint. Wish I had seen this thread before, I would have linked OP the website and everything.
  16. Go on the governors website and file a complaint. I also turn my stuff in straight to NJSP, and after 4 months I called, and I was told it would be another 3-4. Unacceptable. I went on Christie's website and filed a complaint. 3 days later I got an email saying it was being looked into. 4 hours after that, NJSP called and said my permits were ready. Right after I got mine, I saw a post on here complaining they had waited 7+ months and their pd was giving them the run around. Told the person to file a complaint like I did. 2 days later they got the call that their permits were done. Make your governor put the pressure on NJSP and your local pd to get their shit together. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/79378-help-needed-with-fid-delays/
  17. Not saying I agree with it. Just saying to CYA. If they caught it and decided to prosecute, you wouldn't be a test case, there's already a precedent established the prosecutor is going to point at.
  18. ^This. Regardless if everyone in the end is legally allowed to own it, having someone else take possession knowing they're only going to be signing it over to the son is a straw purchase. Court already had a similar case where an ex-police officer bought a Glock for his father in law because he could get it at a cheaper price. He then brought it to his father in law's FFL (if I remember correctly, the ex-cop lived in NY and the father in law lived in PA) and did all the paperwork to transfer the firearm. Court stated since the ex-cop bought the handgun knowing he would be transferring it to the father in law, knowing that he would ultimately be the owner, it was a straw purchase. Guess where the ex-cop is sitting right now.
  19. zeke, how do you like that system so far? How to do those cameras mount, they look like they would be a PITA to get looking at what you want... and are those hardwired for power? it says 16 batteries... lol
  20. I've also been looking into a system for the outsides of my house. John, how much are you looking to spend? I was looking for basically the cheapest reliable system I could find and came across this: http://www.amazon.com/Zmodo-Wireless-Security-Cameras--Outdoor/dp/B017SD8RWO/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1453333609&sr=1-2&keywords=wireless+security+camera+system (that bundle doesn't have the HDD to record, but they do have a bundle that comes with it if you search). Only reason I haven't gotten it yet is because of the reviews. They're split almost down the middle for 1 and 5 stars, and what one person complains about, another raves about. Either the company is very inconsistent, or someone is impatient or and idiot.
  21. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/656_1087/products_id/411555761/Ammunition/BUDS+BEST+AMMO+DEALS 22-ish cents per round.
  22. Want to buy a Garand. I see you need to be part of one of their affiliated clubs. Being that the wording is kinda strange, is being active duty LEO/member of the PBA good enough to buy a rifle? If not, what club should I join?
