  1. Used to be and indoor range in Pleasantville back in 1983, now long gone. Took a basic course. Still remember the instructer his name was Vansant. He was great and took extra time to teach a newbie the proper way to do things. Wish I still had the gun I used. S&W model 581 357 magnum/38
  2. The handgun permit process. Even though my town is OK with permits I hate the fact that I have to go to the police station to turn in app an again to pick up permits. Nothing against Police but I don't like being around them or in the station.
  3. OK, hoping maybe someone has done this and can give an opinion. Would an adjustable shotgun stock with a pistol grip have less perceived recoil than just having the shoulder stock only? I’m not looking for tacticool just figure having both would be better as hand, arm and shoulder would be absorbing the recoil not just the shoulder. Attached is a pic of what I’m thinking of installing. Thanks in advance
  4. Not me. I won't go near any place where Xmas shopping is done from Black Friday till end of January. Plus I hate the Holiday season and do not participate in or practice any of it's traditions. Wife feels same way and we have no children.
  5. Hello and welcome from fellow South Jersey shooter.
  6. Great pic. That rig must be someones way cool Rat Rod. Check out wheels and tires. All matching and realatively new.
  7. Nice. I like the stock. You can rest on you hip if you wanted to just like Rossi Ranch Hand. Been very tempted to do a cut down stock like that on one of my bolt action shotguns.
  8. Wow. I'm not into tactical but that's a work of art. Nice
  9. Thanks, I was wondering if they worked
  10. Yes they are safe to shoot. Their is a screw in the bolt that you remove to take the bolt out of the gun. If the screw is too loose or missing the bolt will come out when you when you when you move the bolt handle up and back to eject spent shell. Some idiot hit himself in the face with the bolt, sued and won. For years you could sent the bolt back to Sears. They would keep it and send you something like $65. True story
  11. +1 On the Remington Managed Recoil Slugs.
  12. Rifles...Marlin Camp Carbine, Ruger PC 40, Savage 840 in 30-30, Hi Point Carbine in 9mm with the old style stock, Remington 597 in 22 magnum
  13. Arms & Ammo was for me just about the most perfect Gun shop I’d ever done business with. Was at a loss who to deal with when Paul moved on. I have since found a new place to do transactions with. So I just want to give a shout out to P&K Firearms & Ammo in Manahawkin. Full service establishment with pleasant efficient staff. If you liked Arms & Ammo you might like this place.
  14. Thanks, that's where I got the info needed to confirm that it was not a Remlin. Nice sight
  15. Duh...just realized I put this under rimfire :sclerosis: Oh well I did buy a Marlin XT 22 today also
  16. Always wanted a lever action but new ones are so pricey. Scored this today. 2007 Marlin 336 in 30-30 Winchester. Best thing is that its pre “Remlin” Pic does not do it justice, it’s gorgeous. Now I just have to save my nickels and dimes for some ammo. LOL. It’s like a $1 a round
  17. Way cool. I actually prefer the Norinco's over Yugo's. Enjoy
  18. M38's are more collectable but finding a nice one is hard to do. Most are counter bored and and not very pretty. They also kick more than any other Mosin. Nice M44's are relatively easy to come by. Plus they look cooler, have a bayonet the added weight of which reduces recoil. Just my 2 cents
  19. you can get a Sig certified used police trade for about 40% less. So sorry I sold my 229. It was great
  20. The top one is tube feed 2 rounds + one in chamber. Bottom one also tube 4 + 1 rounds. The tube feeds are better. Only one came from Gun Broker $75 before fees, one from a guy at the range and 3 from local dealers.
  21. Heyday of bolt action shotguns is long gone. Unpopular, uncollectable, and forgotten. You can find them everywhere and if you pay more than $100 for one you paid too much. So why not have some fun. Except for one that needed new extractors all that was necessary was to disassemble clean and safety check. I cut down the barrels to 18 ½” take 2” of the stocks, add a Limb Saver butt pad and epoxy on a Hi-Viz sight. All work perfectly and fun to shoot. Three of them don’t even have serial numbers. Top to bottom…J.C. Higgins 583.1100 12ga, Marlin model 50 20ga, Mossberg 395KB 12ga, Mossberg 185KB 20ga and the infamous J.C. Higgins 583.16 recall special in 12ga.
  22. 92FS First auto loader I ever had. Hated it. Sold to a friend years ago. He still has it and I shot it again recently. I still hate it. LOL
