  1. I think Duppie's post covers it best. This guy, unfortunately started the proverbial "ball rolling" by calling a suicide prevention hotline.
  2. I've purchased from A&A (AR15) and from Butch's in Vineland (MP45) and had very good experiences with both places. Though A&A's prices were a little bit cheaper. Other gunshops in AC area are Just Sports in Cape May Courthouse and Belleplain Supply in Belleplain.
  3. Yup, same here. Definitely a better time period. Yeah, whenever I take trips to Pa or Tn, I still find myself walking to the sporting goods department in Walmart reminiscing about the good ole days in NJ when a lot of department stores sold guns. Sort of like stepping back in time
  4. I shake my head in disgust every time I read or hear about similar incidents and the way our "system" just flat out fails us. We have boat loads of criminals in our jails, the majority of which have no chance at being rehabilitated, yet these same "individuals" are supported (with tax dollars) by the same society whom they victimized. Makes no d*mn sense to me. Sadly, this won't be the last story like this.
  5. Wow, that is different. I don't know if I would want to life weights and shoot at the same time......give me an obstacle/stress course instead. To each their own I suppose. LMAO!
  6. That test definitely has some surprise results in it. Though, I wished he would've tested one wiped with a silicone cloth. I've been using one for a few years now and haven't had any problems with it protecting my guns and am curious how it would've stacked up against the competition.
  7. Now that is some funny stuff right there. Here's my offering: 1- hand held vacuum 2- Ky jelly 3- drop cloth
  8. Be cautious about posting 2A laws, the majority of them had been replaced by the 2C criminal code.
  9. Nice! The music was good, the lyrics were, um, uh,....... edgy. Man I'm showing my age. You won't see this video on MTV or VH1, LOL.
  10. I'm sure it could work, the nice thing about plasti dip is that it is reversible. The only caution I would mention is that the upper end for temp is 200 degrees and that may not bode well for use on the barrel. BTW usnmars, that is one beautiful job you did on that rifle!
  11. I play a little guitar so I have a tendency to favor heavily guitar infused music, so here goes: Tony MacAlpine: A great neo classical rock guitarist (and classical pianist). I especially like his earliest work in Edge of Insanity and Maximum Security. Rush: Definitely a great band. I like most of their music, but I prefer their earliest work though, up to and including their "Hemispheres" album. Dokken: Probably my favorite 80's hair band overall. Since I'm a big George Lynch fan, that probably has a lot to do with it. I didn't think that they had gotten the musical recognition that they deserved compared to others of that era (cough, poison, skid row, etc. cough). RATT: Another of my fav's from the 80's. Not crazy about Pearcy's singing skill, but loved the guitar work by DeMartini and Crosby. Fifth Angel: Mostly unheard of, especially when compared to the "well known" groups of the 80's but blew most of them away, IMO. They were way WAY under the musical recognition radar. Anyone who likes 80's hard rock type music needs to hear these guys.
  12. Problem with a scenario such as this, especially considering recent news events, is that it puts everyone involved into CYA mode.
  13. Yeah I know, should've said network, LOL. I ended up finding it "on demand". I agree with all of the above. I liked it enough to watch again but still not sure how if it will keep my interest for the long haul.
  14. The dilema that you'll have is that there aren't any decent pump style BB rifles. I'm assuming you are talking about multi pump, correct? If you want a multi pump style rifle I would suggest a .177 cal pellet rifle made by Benjamin (Crosman owns company now). These are decent quality with rifled barrels and darn accurate. The Crosman 760 pump BB/Pellet rifle is little more than a toy now IMO. I still have one from when I was a teenager back in the late 70's. After puchasing 2 for my sons about 8 years ago, I was very disappointed in the quality by comparison. BTW, pellets offer better accuacy than BBs and are much less likely to ricochet. If you want a single pump or break barrel style spring air rifle (barrel opens and cocks rifle) Gamo is a nice choice as PK90 suggested. If your kids are under 14 I would suggest the Gamo Recon. Its a nice little pellet rifle and has decent power.
  15. Damn, I missed it. I didn't realize it was on last night. I don't have DVR so I gotta hope its available "on demand". What channel was it on?
  16. Thanks for the video Rifleman. This plane is simply amazing. Check out some of the others after that one plays through, they are equally impressive.
  17. Gotta love Shep's reaction....get off, get off, get off, get off it, get off it, GET OFF IT! (followed by look of disgust) Priceless LOL, for that, you would've needed a rifle shot from the grassy knoll area
  18. hmmm, maybe not any county records but certainly documented with the police department. Even though its not a criminal arrest they should still have the OP's friend listed in their records just like any other victim of an incident. He should definitely keep the info regarding his hospital "visit". The PD are the ones doing the background checks and they will check their own records. My problem with the way this went down (based on the information available) is that it appeared the police overstepped their bounds with taking the guy in the first place. If the guy agrees to go, thats one thing, but based on the info given, they had no right just taking him just on someone else's claim. That is, unless he appeared despondent to them where they had a reasonable belief that he was a danger to himself or others. Obviously I wasn't there, and there could be a lot of info left out of this story. The quick release from the hospital kind of tells the tale though.
  19. I've been pondering the purchase of one of these kits for my AR also. Good luck with getting the issue resolved. Subscribing as well.
  20. As fast as those puppies fly, I wouldn't be surprised if they were based in Florida, LOL. But seriously, I thought that was "different" also, in that they were F-22's and not 15's or 16's. Maybe media got it messed up? If there are 22's flying around NJ I sure would like to get a look at 'em.
  21. I'll take the strong small one anyday. If the stuff is weak and doesn't work the way it should, it won't matter how much you spray the guy. I don't think anyone will have an issue as long as they aren't carrying around a huge canister of the stuff. Like you said, as long as it's a reasonable amount, you shouldn't have any problems.
  22. Something's not right about this. It sounds as if HSM (not sure what company either) is out of state based on the OP's description. I would assume its NJSP Firearms bureau who would've contacted them. If that were the case then they would've contacted all mail order places, or at a minimum the most popular ones. Almost sounds like the company doesn't want to be bothered with the sale and is using NJSP as an excuse. Like I said before, something is amiss here.
  23. Damn, tough crowd here, LOL. Congratulations on your second child. Hope eveyone is doing well.
  24. Thanks for the info on the sale. Got 300 each of .223 and 5.56 to "top off" my ammo stash for a rainy day.
