  1. So I took my first 2 hours drive out to Cabela's in PA today. All I can say is, "WOW!!!!" Outside of the enormity of the store, it was such a shock to walk into a firearms store that had racks of rifles and shotguns that you can literally just walk up to pick up as if it was a bag of chips at the grocery store. I was there for roughly 3 hours and I could've spent so much longer if it wasn't for the SO. All the accessories and firearms related paraphernalia was overwhelming. Just seeing ailes of ammo arranged by the different calibers was something else as well. The staff was very knowledgable and friendly. Sadly they didn't have an left handed rifles as I was looking for one. The ammo prices were ridiculous compared to what I see here in NNJ! I already have a case of 9mm ammo at home but couldn't resist to pick up a few hundred rounds while I was there. I wasn't even ID'ed when I checked out with the ammo. It was an eye opener and kinda sombering to see how tough/strict we have it here in NJ. All in all, I'm definitely a fan and can't wait to go back!
  2. Haha! If only we were allowed to carry...
  3. More importantly, can you find a GIF of Andrea pulling her pants up? ;-P
  4. I was down to the G19 gen4, Px4 Storm, 92FS, and M&P as my choices a couple of weeks ago. You have to go with what feels best for you. Everyone told me G19 but I went with the Px4 Storm and I couldn't be happier. If you can, shoot and handle your narrowed down choices as much as possible and go with what feels best for you. No matter what you choose, it will be a solid choice as you listed very efficient/reliable choices.
  5. I haven't heard a peep about this story on CNN nor on the 10 o'clock news this evening. They were still talking about that pro gun control rally in DC.
  6. I was actually in the same boat. There really isn't an advantage IMO of one over the other as far as functionality goes. Go with what feels best in your hand. The only draw back is that you only get 10 round magazines with the 17 but as somone said earlier, you can get a 17 round magazine pinned back to 15.
  7. HA! I'm willing to take any excess 9mm ammo you have.
  8. Welcome! I'm from Fair Lawn as well. I'm happy to see more gun owners in our community.
  9. Congrats and welcome! I hope you have a quick turnaround with the paperwork. Consider taking an NRA safety course (first steps pistol/shotgun). Also join NRA and NJ2AS.
  10. +1 I couldn't have said it better. Welcome and best of luck on finding what you feel is best for you.
  11. Just last Monday it was a 4 box limit! It went down to 2 box by the weekend and now 1. Magazines have been flying off the shelves as well!
  12. I'm in for boxes! I got a SB box party at the Brownstone on Monday, can't wait!
  13. very nice! congrats! I've only had mine for a week and I'm already planning my next 3!
  14. Our Republican "friends" in NY proved this a couple of weeks ago when they voted against law abiding responsible gun owners.
  15. Good to know it wasn't any other than something that just needed to be cleaned. @dtown and @Tango Charlie I'm left handed and am skeptical of getting a standard shotgun intended for a right handed person. I know that Remington 870 does come in lefty but I also came across the Browning BPS line and other over/under types that are lefty friendly. Should I not bother with one of those as a standard shotgun would suffice? Thanks in advance
  16. Glad to hear that it was fixed quickly and efficiently. I had a letter missing at the end of my SBI on my FID. Luckily detective asked me to come in following morning after I called. He put it in his 1980's type writer and added the letter.
  17. I hate his smug/arrogant smirk he gives. I will vote for ignorance as well.
  18. If I plan on shooting half as much as I want to, it would be in my best interest to take the class as well. I'm def in for the next one if I don't have any prior engagements.
  19. Thanks again Topher for being a huge help. You're more than welcome to shoot anything I have. It was really nice to meet you dtown and Tango Charlie. Watching dtown shoot the shotgun makes me want to get one next since I don't have any P2P's at the time.
  20. I got the call to pick her up yesterday. I was enamored all day and apologize for not getting the pics sooner. I was surprised that NICS cleared 24 hours after buying! I can't wait to go to the range! Sorry for the large pictures.
