  1. Legalize all drugs, you erase the black market that causes much of our violent crime. Put money used to enforce those laws into rehab programs... extensive ones. Then we have less druggies on the street. Overall violence goes down. America is better. I am probably being a bit naive, however a lot of the crime in this country is driven by illegal drug trade.
  2. Get her into firearms and shooting. So you can both wrack up the cc bill together. lol
  3. Correct me if I am wrong, but a criminal could have obtained a gun illegally, and used it in a crime, however he can turn it in here, get money, and not be asked any questions? Gun laws at work guys, and they want to add more.
  4. Here is a site where people post articles about defensive gun use. http://www.reddit.com/r/dgu
  5. Insane, I doubt this will pass but everyone should expect a drop to 10 rounds. I have a strong feeling that will pass. Most people in NJ don't even realize how hard it is to get a gun legally in NJ as it is. Which is why non-gun owners usually support strict measures. They are uninformed. People watch too many movies. Also, the Newtown teachers would have been even bigger heroes if they had been armed and were able to adequately defend themselves and the kids.
  6. If you can't take off work. You suddenly caught a stomach virus right? I've done it to go snowboarding, I'll do it for this.
  7. When my friend went to pick his up it took all of 5 mins. The secratery gave it to him and just explained change of address and permit extension. Hopefully mine goes just as smoothly.
  8. Sorry, God (or the belief in God) has little to nothing to do with it. Considering prayer has always been allowed in classroom, it just cannot be teacher or administrator led because public schools are governmental institutions and government is not supposed to have anything to do with any religion. Students however can pray to their hearts content. Sweden is one of the most atheist countries in the world, they don't have problems because of it.
  9. http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/11/justice/california-school-shooting-teachers/index.html?hpt=ju_c1 Okay, it is a nice feel good story. No one dies, potential killer talked out of further mayhem. Here is the joke though. People are claiming that this shows that we don't need armed teachers in schools. I guess the problem in Connecticut was that no one talked to Lanza good enough. I am sorry, I would have blown that kid with the shotgun away if I was in that situation and armed. When someone starts killing (or attempting to kill) in cold blood, they lost all right to rational discourse. These people astound me. They really think trying to talk to a mass shooter is better than being adequately armed to defend oneself. I am just going to say it, an armed teacher could have stopped the Connecticut massacre. The principle had time to confront and fling herself at the assailant. Another teacher used her body as a shield. All helpless sitting ducks in a "gun-free zone". I get enraged, because the anti-gun folks support the disarming of law abiding innocent citizens. They support making people defenseless because they live in some wierd fantasy land where the police show up instantly and criminals follow gun restrictions. That is what enrages me. If something were to happen, I'd have to sit there and watch a maniac slaughter my friends, family, or myself because NJ will not allow me to adequetely defend myself legally. I have no possible chance of defending myself or the ones I love. It makes me sick. I don't live paranoid. I don't walk down the street thinking these things, but when I read stories like this it comes into my head. I am not ruled by fear, but the reality is it might happen. I don't want to be the one wishing I had a gun, right before I get blown away defenseless.
  10. Before and after ban have been relatively similar. Percentage wise the US has lowered their murder rate much more so. Even with all r"bad" guns. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18900384 Note: the chart in the article does not include Scotland or Northern Ireland. The point of this post? The gun ban did not do much (or anything at all) in the way of lowering crime. What a surprise.
  11. I doubt it was the drugs. The drugs just indicate they had issues beforehand. If anything it shows that drugging people up is not the answer. However I doubt the drugs caused it, in most of the cases at least.
  12. Not even a gun owner yet and I joined. I don't like everything they do, but they are gun owners strongest line of defense.
  13. Sociopaths, psychopaths, etc are not uncovered with a test. You would need to follow them for months and view their actions and interactions with others. This test would just be another pointless loophole. Not to mention, once again, criminals DO NOT FOLLOW THE LAW to begin with.
  14. The whole yelling "fire" in the movie theater thing is bs because a movie theater is privately owned and they can limit your speech if they want to and you do not have to go there. Besides, causing a human stampede and creating a false panic is what you get in trouble for, not yelling "fire". I do not agree with forced registration and insurance with cars. Then, there is the fact that criminals don't go through these processes. They go to Newark or Camden and purchase their guns illegally. Also don't know if you guys know about it, but online websites illegally sell guns as well, anonymously. Granted they aren't that popular but people do it and I wouldn't be surprised to see it become more popular.
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, however the owner of NJFG in Rahway is a friend of the family and he was asking for the typical price I see online for a new gen4 g19. Though for future purchases I will definitely consider the forum vendors.
  16. Apparently police are investigating it as homicide. I'm gonna keep an eye on this.
  17. My references did as they are both close friends and texted me right away. I plan on buying a G19 Gen4 actually. I will be ordering it through NJ Firearms Guild in Rahway. Eventually I will get more handguns. A Beretta will be one of them. I want to either get a Revolver next (how are the Berettas?) or the Seecamp LWS .32 next. The lady actually told me it might take longer than usual since she has a high volume of applications ever since Sandy Hook. I have been prepared to wait until Spring honestly. Still am, hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.
  18. This is in Clark, NJ. So last week I went to the local Police Station and handed in my two forms. I was given the fingerprinting form and told I needed to get fingerprinted and the company would digitally send the results. There were no fees (besides the 57.50 fingerprinting fee) and no extra forms. I did not have to give them any receipts. The lady who handled the paperwork has been a pleasure so far. Today my two references received their checklists. Both will be sending them back to the station tomorrow. That is the point I am at right now. Everything seems to be going smoothly and quickly so far. Besides the fact that I disagree with most of this process, I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised with how good it is going so far.
  19. This is more dangerous for the non-gun owners. Now any wannabe crook knows who is unarmed.
  20. Piers had it set to make himself sound the more "rational". It isn't about finding a rational conclusion, it is about piers "winning". If Jones acted calm, Piers would have shouted him down. His audience will side with his two faced actions.
  21. I agree with Devs Advocate (go devils!) it is about personal responsibility and responsibility in business. The government shifts too much liability onto itself, people are less likely to take responsibility for themselves.
