  1. I'm wearing a black t-shirt with a blue "Beast of the East" logo, dark shorts. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2

  3. Looks like I'll be able to make it a bit after 7. How will I recognize you? Stu.
  4. I'm reading it the same way. I hope it gets traction unlike the pro-gun bills in NJ. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  5. With 2 daughters who are getting to the maturity where learning to shoot is appropriate for them, does anyone have a .22 rifle surplus to requirements because it is now too small for your kids? FPID and matching DL ready for deployment. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  6. STI make 2011 pistols which are a double stack version of a 1911. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  7. The Armscorp ones are only the Spartan models. Trojan and up are all made in Texas. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Sorry, that is what I meant but did not say very clearly. The OP did say he wanted to be able to buy it if he came across some though. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  9. That would be perfectly legal. You would need your FPID because .22lr is pistol ammo as well as rifle ammo but there is no restriction on possessing it on your day to day travels in NJ provided that it is not hollowpoint or dumdum bullets. Don't go to DC though. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  10. The bizarre thing is NOTHING happened; we were not stopped by the police, we were not searched, we were not detained, we were not even forced to stay at a Holiday Inn Express. We did not invoke any legal defense of anything. BTW FOPA was not needed because our method of transportation was legal in both NJ and PA (unloaded & cased to/from range). 11. In the past I have done a variation on this. I met a couple of guys at SCFGPA and we car pooled to Hellertown. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Just a note to mention that mods are not required for ESP. I shoot the same gun for SSP and ESP. The only mods are a KKM barrel and a set of Dawson sights on a Glock 35 which are both legal in either division. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  13. What Griz said. Was there any sootiness on the outside of the cases? That is another sign of an underpowered load. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I'm glad you all had a good time and hopefully got enough out of it to go and shoot a match with a bit of confidence. Thank you for staying to help tear down the stage. To be honest, with the relentless sun I was starting to feel a bit of exhaustion by the end so the help really is appreciated. I would also like to thank irishpetes'wife for helping with running the mock stages at the end of the session. It made all the difference. Stu.
  15. Depending on when you go you might be the only person there. There is no full time RSO, only popular times usually. The standing rule is the first person on the range is to act as RSO if others arrive. Normally it is just a case of agreeing with the other shooters when to call a ceasefire for target changes. 16. Besides what is in post #27 you just need to bring whatever you want for personal care. I will bring water. You might want sun block, bug spray, a hat, a snack, a camera. There are a few lawn chairs at the range but you might want a folding chair to sit on while we cover some of the theory parts. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Last bump Any more interested? Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  18. They are rare and hard to find but Sig does produce a P220 SAO which has a manual safety instead of a decocker. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  19. We will be using one of the special events bays for the class which will mean a max range of around 15 yards. The rifle range is 100 yards which you can use after we're done. If you are not a member I'll guest you on the rifle range. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  20. IDPA stands for International Defensive *Pistol* Association. You are welcome to bring your AR for use before or after the class but we will only be using handguns in the class. I'll be bringing my Glock 35 and my XD-45. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  21. You may be able to get better but the returns may not be worth the effort for IDPA. What sights do you have? If they are the stock ones you are going to have difficulty doing much better even with the best ammo in the world. That huge front sight is too wide for super-precise shots at longer ranges. If you can consistently hit the down-0 freestyle from 25 yards I wouldn't worry. I'd spend the time working on transitions, cadence, reloads, movement, staging, etc. rather than obsess about tiny groups. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
  22. I'd say that is accurate enough. IDPA rules forbid required head shots further than 10 yards, and no shots further than 25 yards in scenario stages. 75% must be 15 yards or less. 35 yards is the max for standards stages and no more than 6 allowed per stage. You don't get extra merit for groups, only down-0, down-1, down-3 or down-5. Sent from my SCH-I800 using Tapatalk 2
