  1. This is excellent advice...in 1985... Unfortunately, the 2A community has been largely insular. Largely rural, and largely white. I hate to bring race into this, but it's now going to be a big factor. I know we've all met a Latino/African-American/Asian shooter but there just simply aren't enough. You're right, more people needed to be included - decades ago, not now 2 minutes before midnight. Demographics are a big factor in legislation and now that the 2A community is 95%+ white, it's going to be a big issue finding support as you become outnumbered.
  2. You can run, but you can't hide. This problem doesn't stay in NJ.
  3. Yup, this is pretty much it. NJ will never be more affordable or fiscally secure until it no longer owes platinum-level healthcare plans and pensions to every lazy ass that affirmative-actioned their way into working for the DMV. All based off of taxpayer money from people who cannot even afford a similar plan for themselves or maybe even not have health are for themselves.
  4. Well I know Easton/Bethlehem/Allentown is not that great of an area, wouldn't wanna live around there.
  5. Because the failed strategy of conservatives in the last 20 years has been to point to the constitution and courts as if they are going to somehow fix things. You know, the same constitution and courts that allowed all these laws and policies and ideologies to come into existence in the first place. The system is flawed, I don't see how the same flawed system that allowed this, can somehow fix this.
  6. Lawsuits won't do shit. I mean, they could, and would, but here's the problem. NJSP don't just randomly kick in someone's door, test out their magazines, fit 16 rounds into one and haul them off to jail. There's usually a circumstance. Some neighbor calls the cops cause they were cleaning their AR near a window. They're in the middle of a divorce and the spouse decides to play dirty and make a scary phone call. They stop at a diner on the way home from the range and get pulled over coming out of the parking lot for cutting someone off. Then all the holier-than-thou people come out of the woodwork. "Oh, see, there's more to this story" no shit sherlock, it's called "life" and it's never as simple as you'd like it to be. And it doesn't get supported. At least, that's been my experience the last ~10 years. Maybe now people will finally snap out of it? And stop the holier-than-thou crap. I like to point out, Rosa Parks didn't just happen to go and sit down on that bus. She worked for NAACP and was chosen to specifically get on that bus, sit at the front, and refuse to move. Activists had her back, and were willing to go all the way with it. That's the difference. I don't recall anyone saying "she should have just moved to the back, cause everyone knows the law, duh!"
  7. I really, really, seriously hope you don't think I'm a "fudd" because of the choice of play on words I decided to use as a username.
  8. Organizations like the NRA are stupid and short-sighted if they think these crazy laws are just going to stay in places like New Jersey and California. As residents leave these states and move elsewhere as well as other demographic shifts Nationwide what they consider to be quote free states quote can just as easily end up having the same kind of b******* laws in only a few years. They really need to to start realizing this and take action
  9. Actually blame Cody, the guy who started the company. He coined the name "Ghost guns" when he started his company last year
  10. I know how to get a case to SCOTUS. What you have to do is ask a bakery if they will put a 1911 inside of a cake for you. When they refuse, take it all the way to SCOTUS because your 1911 identifies as a non binary gender. The end result is a ruling that allows you to carry a gun cake anywhere. Good news is now you can basically CCW. Bad new is you have to fish through 2 layers of frosting to get to it.
  11. Either 9-pellet #00 buckshot or 27-pellet #4 buckshot. Preferably the cheap-o brands like S&B, Fiocchi, etc. with no fancy cups or wads for a nice big spread. "To whom it may concern..."
  12. Absolutely. I'm just always down for something new and creative. And I enjoy there being lots of options.
  13. For people in places like CA or NY or god forbid maybe even here, where you essentially cannot have a pistol grip. Those monster man grips are stupid, I've tried them out of curiosity and at that point would rather just have a regular stock.
  14. Scale this up and chamber it in 5.56 or 7.62x39 please
  15. Except NO ONE is fighting for you or me. We're sitting here concerned about this FL citizen but down in FL they just chalk us up as a bunch of morons with dumb gun laws and laugh as they bump fire their AK pistol into the swamp. They don't care if our laws ever change, no one outside NJ does. Let a couple people get locked up here and watch it become national news, a national issue. Then watch other senators and judges start to actually care, and strike down or change these laws.
  16. I hope they throw the book at her. Let her rot in prison. Help from NJ won't come from within. It will come from outside. Enough old ladies from down south sitting prison, maybe some senators and federal judges will finally step in. It's not fair to us any other way. Unless you're OK sitting here playing internet lawyer over what you can and can't do, meanwhile some guy in AL can put a "arm brace" on his "Ar-15 pistol" and "CCW" it on the way to shooting up old cars in a field. And laughing apathetically at people like us.
  17. I have to say I completely agree. No I don't want to see anyone in jail for exercising their constitutional right. But as long as the courts, cops and lawyers can keep these quiet nothing will ever change for those of us who live here. Hate to say it, but we need martyrs. Maybe if these out of staters get slapped with a 7 year sentence you'll see some Federal intervention or a case that can make it to a higher court and strike these bullshit laws down.
  18. With a red dot or small scope, that's actually pretty cool, considering the circumstances. I'd much rather have something like that, than an AR-15 with those stupid unsafe paddle grips.
  19. Update #2: Boyd's stock does NOT fit - the angle and shape of the stock are simply not compatible. Browning Shorttrac and Stalker stocks are available from Nunrich, they use the same spacer and stock pads as well. There is a walnut or synthetic version. Rear stock is direct fit, front stock requires some sanding. Fit and finish is great, the comb is just fine even on larger optics. The rails can be removed from the forend, small pan head machine screws can nicely fill the holes left behind. The end result is a very nice, featureless, magazine fed semi auto .308!
  20. Seems like a good deal all around, the only issue I can see with it are people in places like NJ, NY, CA etc. taking a hit due to the Feds not giving as much of a deduction on State property taxes anymore. Which will be a good thing because now people in those states will push their state govs to reduce entitlements and lower property taxes. LOL who am I kidding, that's wayyyyyy too much "thinking" for some. Evil Trump! Bad Trump! Bad bad Republicans!! Booo!!! It was HER turn!!!!
  21. Remember when the Romans came to arrest Christ after Judas dropped the dime, but Jesus was armed with a high capacity 30-rock sling and defended himself? Christianity is based upon submission and martyrdom. You are supposed to turn the other cheek, be killed, then your family will pray for the murderer to have a change of heart in prison and also go to heaven with you. I'm not being sarcastic, these are the literal values of the New Testament, as printed in the bible. Sorry. You could simply worship elsewhere if their ideology does not match yours.
  22. This right here is what it's really about. While we all may go to the 9-5 and pay the taxes, there's a fundamental, philosophical difference between those who are still tied to that which is NATURAL - hunting, fishing, camping, even just getting your hands dirty planting a tree in the backyard. Versus those who are tied to that which is UNNATURAL - social media, drug use, dependent upon caffeine and processed foods like those avocado soy-burgers. Guess which group is easier for a state to control? We all know the answer. The conservative movement in the USA failed 30 years ago, when they decided to frame it as "them vs. the constitution" - it's not about the constitution. It's about natural vs. unnatural, and when you live in an unnatural way, it cannot be sustained for long.
  23. Look into a Saiga trigger linkage as well, you can fashion one yourself by cannibalizing two regular AK FCG's. You can find a receiver template online or just measure and drill the extra holes for the two additional pins. You'll definitely want the ability to remove your pistol grip and mount a standard "sporting" style stock on it in 2018.
  24. Just an update. It turns out that furniture for the Browning Shorttrac will fit it, including the ones made by Boyd's. They do require a small amount of sanding to fit, will have more info in a few weeks. It also makes the stock sit low, so low-profile scope rings recommended. I understand not many here may care, mainly updating the thread for future Google archives as there is just so little info out there about this.
