carry a firearm you moved into state with?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,
I was just curious if anyone has moved into the state or inherited any pistols etc, that weren't purchased in the state.
If so have you added them to your carry permit?
I'm just curious how much of a hassle that might be.  Would they require some sort of paperwork or what?  I dont know if they are cross referencing anything.

You have to submit proof you are the legal owner of the gun. That can be as simple as a notarized letter stating you are the owner. I used a copy of my executed Permit to Purchase a Handgun.

So far NJ does not require to register guns with the State when you become a NJ resident, it is voluntary. Bucky and his gang want to make it a requirement.

Yeah, I'm familiar with that,  that info I know.  I could only provide that notarized letter,  my question is more of are they going to so a search for that gun and see it's not 'registered' in jersey and want some other proof or whatever.
