I friends in Stroudsburg.  They tell me it is NOT the same as when he moved there 30+years ago.  I hear parts are going to shit real fast...

I can think of very few places that are 'the same as they used to be'. 

When I retired, I left South Jersey (Camden County), which was not the same as it used to be.

I left Burlington County (also South Jersey) 15 years before, which is not the same as it used to be.

I left North Jersey (Bergen County) nearly 50 years ago, which is also not the same as it used to be. 

I based my decision to leave on what and how things are now, not as they were 30 years ago.

Ain't that the truth.  That area of PA has gone downhill due to folks moving out of north Jersey and New York.  The school districts have gone to shit, and the drug problem has gone through the roof.
