Storm Damage

Recommended Posts

I had some minor damage to my fence and back of my house during last nights storm. I already fixed the fence but I need a few pieces of vinyl siding in the back replaced. I have the material but I don't know how to do the job. Does anyone know someone who does this kind of work and might be looking for a side job? I'm located in the Toms River area.

I know it doesn't answer your question, and don't know what you are comfortable trying to do yourself, but it's actually pretty easy to do. My son had several pieces that were damaged in a storm. I picked up a vinyl siding removal tool (big name for a simple tool) at Lowe's, watched a few videos and made the repair. I'm in my late 60's and never worked with vinyl siding before.

Be careful. Vinyl siding can crack when it's cold. Other than that, and accessibility, it's not hard. Also depending on color/age/sun exposure of installed siding the new siding may look like a dif color. Just things to be aware of but definitely check out vids.
