GSG Owners.. what kind of accuracy are you getting?

what kind of accuracy at what distances..

 

looking for a 22 and really torn in a lot of directions..

What are your choices?

 

For inexpensive accuracy you can get a CZ 452 or a Remington Model 5.

 

If you want a black gun look or semi-auto, accuracy will suffer.

Only had the GSG outside at "home made" ranges so far.

 

Last time out, using the stock sights, I was easily punching the middle out of stationary clay pigeons at somewhere between 20-25 yards.

 

No experience with a scope yet. Next time out I'll be using a red dot.

and i also think the gsg is out.. while it looks fun.. its probably not best for the application..

 

my gf really likes shooting all of the sudden, but she likes to take her time and shoot things well... while a gsg is fun, i guess it would be a poor choice for that application... she actually doesnt mind bolt action..

 

she wants to target shoot out to 100 yards..

she can solidly shoot that far with iron sights...

 

basically we went to the range and she used a 22 bolt action rifle.. and loved shooting all of the sudden...

this will be her first gun.. she also happens to be left handed, but can shoot a right handed gun.. left handed would be a plus..

Based on your last entry I think your decision is pretty easy. There are some great bolt action 22s available that offer left hand flexibility. The CZ 452 was mentioned earlier,this is available in LH and has received rave reviews from owners. I have a 452fs, I did not want a scope on this rifle so I shoot it with the factory iron sights, it's amazingly accurate. I also have the GSG which is a lot of fun but the sights limit me to about 50 yards.

My GSG is very accurate in the hands of the right person, as in anyone but me!

Where are you located. If you want a bolt action I know of a couple older Marlins from about 2 weeks ago. They were good prices and in good shape. One was a Model 80 DL with scope and factory reciever sight.

In response to the original question....

 

Ask Tim! He shot mine and did AMAZING with it. I only put 10 rounds thru it. lol His groups were incredible, so as tiny said, in the right hands its very accurate. Oh, and tim was rapid-firing too, VERY impressive results.

Chad is correct, his was incredibly accurate. Off hand as quick as I could pull the trigger. I was impressed with it.
