jermz1987 243 Posted November 27, 2009 So I just received 600 rounds of Speer Lawman 124gr 9mm FMJs for free. I have never seen these before. Has anyone here ever tried them? I am not really complaining because I got them for free, but I am just curious. While I was opening the boxes and putting them in my ammo case I noticed they were kind of dirty. They left a bunch of soot all over my hands. Anybody have experience with this brand?
tony357 386 Posted November 27, 2009 yes, it was good ammo, used in in 9mm, 40 cal and 45. do not remember it being dirty what did you shoot it out of. think i still have some 40 and 9mm..
Malsua 1,422 Posted November 27, 2009 It's good ammo and you'll notice that it's loaded hot.
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted November 27, 2009 I had some that seemed kinda old/dirty. But it shot just fine. If you don't like this, I'll gladly take it off your hands
rscalzo 3 Posted November 27, 2009 Speer Lawman That is the only ammo used at SIG and it is used to test not only every handgun leaving the factory but any repairs. It is top quality ammo and the price was right.

rscalzo 3 Posted November 27, 2009 you'll notice that it's loaded hot Speer Lawman 124 FMJ loads are loaded at or below the major brands of ammo. While you may get the feeling in your personal use it's loaded hot but in reality it's the same as all the major brands.

Speer Lawman 124 FMJ Muzzle 1150 Blazer Brass 124 FMJ Muzzle 1090 Remington UMC 124 FMJ Muzzle 1100 I suppose I could go to the website of a bunch of different vendors and look up the ballistic information but I'll leave it at this. Anyone who has shot Lawman vs regular range ammo on the same day, can instantly tell the difference. Next time out at the range, I'll bring a box of Lawman and even the people standing will notice the difference. It has more recoil and a louder report. It's not huge, but if you know your gun, you can tell.
JC_68Westy 1,024 Posted November 27, 2009 If I recall correctly the Speer Lawman is supposed to allow you to shoot with the same recoil, etc as the Speer Gold Dot at a cheaper price. It is training ammo.

XDJohnTact 49 Posted November 28, 2009 I got a case of it a while back and it shot just fine, it did seem a little snappy as I remember. Free is good!

Dblaze 0 Posted December 3, 2009 It shoots really nicely in .40 S&W...I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. It shoots clean as well.
