These guys would have been better off actually learning the laws before carrying handguns across the country. Admitting they took them into Canada didn't go over very well. Even worse was trying to bring them onto a Navy base. Did they think they weren't going to be checked before being allowed entry? Fortunately they didn't do anything foolish when stopped at the gate.

It's in the hands of the Federal agencies. They aren't giving him any sympathy. It was truly an idiot. They make it clear in several ways that crossing into Canada with any firearms, especially a handgun is forbidden. They have signs and tell you that. The same as the entrance to the Portsmouth Navy Base. The guys with the M-16's at the gate don't have a sense of humor. the fact that currently there are three nuclear submarines on the base makes them very nervous.

 

If one is going to take the responsibility to carry a handgun, they had better take the time to learn the laws. Sounds like two people that don't deserve the ability to do so.

His PA drivers license was valid in Maine, why wasnt his PA carry permit? Both issued by state agencies.

Umm - you didn't read the article did you. They tried to get onto a Federal Installation - every federal installation I have ever been to (clearly) PROHIBIT guns on site.

But I guess I missed that part, Why would they do that? OH, they were illegal immigrants and couldnt read the signs...Duh.
