71ragtopgoat 23 Posted January 30, 2010 I was board so I went to Cabela's today and hit two Wal-Marts and Dicks on the way home. Bought a few things at Cabela's as always. However none of the stores had 45 acp 230gr FMJ in stock except the top $$ stuff and wal mart had almost no pistol ammo at all. So I headed to Dicks and again no 45 acp ammo. Man I hope this scarcity ends soon. Lucky for me I stocked up online a month ago. Cabela's did have 380 and most other calibers but not the one I use. Celraysoda 7 Posted January 30, 2010 I went to the Cabela's in Dallas a few months back. Man, they had everything. I told them I was from Jersey and they let me take a few extra bricks of primers. I may be going back in the near future. :handgestures-fingerscrossed:
moparman426 5 Posted January 30, 2010 I was debating on going to the one in Hamburg PA. But it looked as though it was going to snow (like it is now). so i stayed home. Might go next weekend. Kind of a random question... but do you remember seeing any black powder revolvers there?

Kind of a random question... but do you remember seeing any black powder revolvers there? I cant say I was not looking for them. However if I could give advice it would be to get there around 8-9 ish. I went early and the Gun Library was mobed around 11:30 am when I left. The gun library was indeed very impressive. They had rifle ammo stacked all over the place.
71ragtopgoat 23 Posted January 31, 2010 If I need any 45 I will make my own. I cant do that as my wife is a huge Anti gunner. There is to be no movement of firearms in my house when others are home. The penalty is to be treated like dirt cold shoulder etc etc. I could only imagine the sentence for reloading at home. LOL!!! The thing that gets me is she's a country girl who's father was an avid outdoors man. She's been around firearms all her life.

I always see pictures of it, but im dying to check out the gun library.
Daedalus 19 Posted January 31, 2010 I bought six boxes of WWB 230 FMJ last week at the Hamburg store. They had lots more on the shelf. I was looking for some Federal American Eagle but could not find any.
maideneddie 35 Posted January 31, 2010 Last week Ramsey Outdoor in Ledgewood had .45 ACP in stock. They were selling winchester 250 rnd boxes for 119.00. My buddy bought four of them. Edit: It was Federal .45, not Winchester
Maksim 1,504 Posted January 31, 2010 went to dicks in freehold today, they had a whole bunch of everything
Springfield1911 22 Posted January 31, 2010 I have been ordering the Winchester white box .45 ACP from Cabelas for $39.99 for 100 round box. They shipped 1 order from Hodgkins, Illinois and my second order came from Oak Creek, Wisconsin. It says 3-4 weeks backorder but they usually ship it in 2 weeks or less. Now the PMC I tried to order and just cancelled it after 3 weeks of waiting. I guess it depends what brand and what caliber. Its hit or miss but I think the ammo hoarding is either slowing down or the ammo companies are pumping the ammo out faster.
Spokes 1 Posted January 31, 2010 Cabelas in Hamburg does have black powder revolvers on display. They had a decent selection the last time that I was there in October.

They go on sale from time to time as well. Over the summer, they had an 1858 Remington for around $
