Happy guys version of Valentines Day at Solomon's.

Went to Solomon's today for the first time. Pleasently surprised it was right off of route 33 and took 20 mins to get there. a hole in the wall with dust from years ago... but was pleasently surprised.

 

They had Powder, Bullets, and Primers!

 

I picked up a 1lb jug of Win 231 for pistol, 1lb of IMR 4895 and 1lb of Reloader 15.

 

The really big kicker... they had in stock, the brand spanking new IMR 8208 powder that apparently is becoming the new target standard.

 

Powder was between $18.50 and $19.50 per lb. They had some in bigger jugs, but I wanted to pick up each to see what will work best.

 

Primers... no on the pistol primers, yes on the rifle primers. Picked up 1k each of CCI Large Rifle and Small Rifle primers. $32/k

 

Bullets, they seemed to have a ton in stock. Picked up 200 168gr Sierra Match Kings for $26.95/100.

 

all in all, spent just under 200 without tax, and $209.50 with tax. There were 2 people waiting inline before me. He seemed to have regular ammo in stock as well.

 

It is really amazing that he is able to keep it all in stock, at such greatprices. Best of all, no shipping or hazmat fees.

I was there a month or so ago with Lunker to grab some 12 ga slugs to mess around with at the range. While we were there waiting for the guy to tally up the order by hand, i was gandering at the ammo they have around the corner in the back room. I asked him if they had any 9mm HP and he produced a couple boxed of Fed Hydrashocks for $20 ea so i took them. After i got home, i noticed the hand written price tag was affixed over several previous price tags so i began peeling them back to see the price history. It turns out that this ammo had been there a while and peeling them back revealed $14.99, then $12.99 then $8.99! I was not amused. They shoot fine and are in new condition though so i have no issued using them. I'm surprised that hey were there that long and not snatched up during the rush.
