Malsua 1,422 Posted February 19, 2010 Wouldn't the compensator have to be permanently attached and do they make 15rnd mags?

Cylinder Head 22 Posted February 19, 2010 Wouldn't the compensator have to be permanently attached and do they make 15rnd mags? It's technically a pistol, it's under the weight limit for pistols (50 oz's), so it does not have to follow rifle rules for overall length and evil features. A semi-automatic firearm should be considered to be "substantially identical," that is, identical in all material respects, to a named assault weapon if it meets the below listed criteria: ii. A semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: (1) An ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (2) A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer; (3) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (4) Manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; and/or (5) A semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm; and http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/06240 ... 13ch54.pdf
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted February 19, 2010 Absolutely I thought the magazine has to go threw the grip in order to qualify as a handgun.

Guest Posted February 19, 2010 So thats a negative on this particular firearm? I really like it...
coldsolderjoint 84 Posted February 19, 2010 PK90 said it was absolutely legal. I would trust his advice :-P I posted the info about the evil features list to try to clear up some of the confusion floating around, but I seem to have confused people more. Sorry. Ray Ray 3,566 Posted February 19, 2010 Your right Ed, if Paul says its legal, then I gotta go with him on it. Megaman, go for it!
PK90 3,573 Posted February 19, 2010 It does not have a threaded barrel.
The_Matrix 105 Posted February 20, 2010 its should be OK....since it was specifically design for a Commie state, like NJ. Cause no one in a free state would want such a thing. Think about that.

Freedom-First 2 Posted February 23, 2010 You will certainly find out if it is legal or not (which I believe it is) when you go to have it transferred through an FFL. If it isn't legal. they won't touch it not will anyone ship it to NJ if there's a doubt. It's really kind of tough to make a mistake and innocently end up with a restricted firearm in this State. I plan on ordering direct from Bushmaster, so I am pretty sure they will be able to tell me. That thing looks sweet!
