gabbagaba 1 Posted March 9, 2010 I have heard and read a lot of positive reviews about Cherry Ridge. I went up there on Sunday and joined. What a great place. All of the R.O. were very friendly and were happy to answer any questions i had. I'm looking forward to going up there again sometime real soon. kenw 293 Posted March 9, 2010 CR is a great range. Something for mostly anyone, friendly folks and very, very safe. You'll enjoy shooting there. Once it get warmer, we have monthly meetups there on the second Sunday. A bunch of us show up, bs around for a while, move to the range of our choice for a couple of hours, and reassemble on the shotgun range to make dust for a couple of hours. Good times with good people. This year, we may have a barbecue there. They have tables scattered around the property, and the RO's said it would be no problem. I'm looking forward to it. Where are you traveling from?
matt6669 71 Posted March 9, 2010 WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO another person to add to my growing group of FUDD's!! Welcome to the group. Like Ken said, we hold monthly get together the second sunday of every month. Look for the first get together in April! I'm beyond excited for this year, if it's anything like last years growth, the monthly get togethers are going to be insane. I am sure I will be looking for some people to help me coordinate stuff this year if we grow the way I think it's going to grow. M
gabbagaba 1 Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm traveling from Fairfield, Its only about 35 minutes from my door to CR. I was informed about the meet ups, they sound like great fun. The gentleman who handled my membership application was telling me about the 2x4 competition, should be a blast. Hopefully i can make it up there for the next meet. gabbagaba 1 Posted March 9, 2010 i don't think it was one of the ROs. I think it was the guy that took my membership application the guy who gave the safety briefing. His name might not even be Ray. like i said im shitty with names.

kenw 293 Posted March 10, 2010 non-members can come as a guest with a member. $25.00 daily guest pass, and the guest has to stay with their host. The range is open every day (except Christmas day, I think), all year until 1/2 hour before sunset.

You can visit the range just don't walk onto the shooting lines or have a firearm without being sponsored. You can look around the property without anyone bothering you. Zell959 40 Posted March 19, 2010 How crowded is CRR generally on the non-membership weekends? Mid-day saturday is going to be my first chance to shoot there since I signed up and I'm just wondering if I should be expecting any parking challenges or limited port availability. Check the calender and make sure it's not a work weekend or if there's an event. There is a swap meet 10-1 on Saturday so parking up top can be an issue. You probably won't have any issues at pistols or 100.
