Application Fees?

I live in Garfield and I recently applied for a FID. I was charged a $50 fee to "start the process". There was a piece of paper that said it too. I figured this was the for fingerprints, but I had to pay separately when I made the appointment with morphotrack. I then read on NJ guns that they're not supposed to charge anything besides the 5$ for the FID and 2$ for the pistol permits. Are any other municipalities doing this? I feel like they're scamming me and everyone else.

The $5 is for FID, $2 is for each pistol permit.

 

There is a fee, $55?, dont recall now that is for the state police background check. That fee is totally kosher.

Im not surprised since there is NO RKBA IN THE NJ STATE CONSTITUTION.
