hiker88 22 Posted July 19, 2010 need advise... a) do I just send it back to Colt for a repair under warranty (cost of Fedex one-way is $30) but with 3-4 week turn around time? b) Am I better off bringing it to a local gunsmith for the fix? Louis at Armament estimates a $30 cost and a 1 day turn around. or c) buy a plunger tube staking tool from midway at $35 and some loctite red and do the repair myself? your comments are appreciated. robot_hell 72 Posted July 19, 2010 B. Unless you're confident in your repair ability. I'd say send it back to Colt only if you had a problem with the trigger group or it's cheaper to send it in.

hiker88 22 Posted July 19, 2010 I'm tempted to go the diy route but there is always that nagging thought that I might mess the job up despite its simplicity. saw this vid in youtube:
