Krdshrk 3,878 Posted October 2, 2010 What picture? Shouldn't that brake be welded on?

Most people take a dremel and cutting tool and cut towards the pin from the end of the brake. Then using a smaller diameter drill bit - carefully - drill out the pin. If you google it you can find videos that do a much better job explaining it.

High precision 0 Posted October 2, 2010 Put the upper receiver in a vice, slide a metal bar through the brake and twist off, the pin will come out. You can also drill out some of the pin and twist it off with a wrench, that is how I got mine off. It does mess up the threads on the barrel but you can repair them with a tap and die set. vladtepes 1,060 Posted October 2, 2010 if the pin is the only thing holding it.. and you just drill out the pin (carefully)... wouldn't they brake just unscrew at that point?
junkmanted 54 Posted October 4, 2010 I would drill it just through the brake and try and spin it off . Use some electrical tape figure how deep you want to go then wrap the tape around the bit so you know when to stop
