usnmars 136 Posted November 29, 2010 This morning the CMP released a small amount of original M1D accessories on the E-store. They were released at 10:00 and by 10:18 all were sold out. I was fortunate to get my order to go through, but there are a lot of pissed off people over on the forum now. The prices were outstanding, but so many people went to the E-store at once it actually made the server crash!!!!!! I guess I was just one of the lucky ones! The PINK UNICORN strikes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

matt6669 71 Posted November 29, 2010 huh that's funny as I've heard otherwise but I won't go into that here. Regardless, the cmp will always be taken advantage by people looking to make a profit off of a program that was put into place to get people into the sport. I hope those people can live with themselves while they are slowly but surely destroying the only program left by the government that helps the shooting sport.

DevsAdvocate 112 Posted November 30, 2010 There's a gun shop in Myrtle Beach that was selling an M1D, original scope, equipment, flash hider... for like $3600... http://www.mbisr.com/

The PINK UNICORN strikes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Dumb question. Can a standard M1 be converted to M1D? Of course, that would mess up the stock M1. Don't flame me, just asking ... On a related note, can I install the M1D style flash hider on my M1? Is that legal?

The PINK UNICORN strikes again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 So, what'd you get? I got a cut Wilde and cut Onieda bayonet and a stamped and prong FH. It only took about 300 clicks to get the bayonets. The M1D accessories went though after a few tries, but while I was trying, a scope mount, cheek rest, and scope bag went out of stock (frustrating!!!). usnmars 136 Posted November 30, 2010 I got an early flash hider, a t37 flash hider and a cheek pad. I went through without any real issues. My bayonet collection is out of control, so I decided to not get any of them....

You would only need to change the barrel and add the accessories so it wouldn't mess up your M1 unless it is original (it can easily be converted back). While it would be legal to add a flash hider on any M1, I wouldn't recommend it. It will probably screw up your accuracy. During the Korean War, snipers typically removed flash hiders from their M1Ds for this reason.
usnmars 136 Posted November 30, 2010 for what you would pay for the conversion, go with an original rifle from the cmp

matt6669 71 Posted November 30, 2010 still in complete digust with how the CMP handled things today. I just wish they would wake the hell up and buy a freaking merchandise order limit on EVERYTHING so that these hoarders stop getting everything and preventing us hobbiest from actually getting stuff at a good deal. friggin ridiculous

No modifications to rifle ...
