Magazine Ban hidden in the FAA bill?

Recommended Posts

This is what is floating around today from an insider. I'm trying to find more information but this is all I've got right now.

Dear Madd,

I’ve just received word from inside sources in the U.S. Senate.

Senate Democrats are planning to execute a sneak attack on gun rights as soon as TODAY!

Their plan is to sneak Carolyn McCarthy’s Magazine Ban into law as an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration Bill, a routine piece of generally non-controversial legislation.

And they hope YOU won’t notice.

That’s why you and I need to make our voices heard RIGHT NOW!

We need to let them know we’re watching them like a hawk!

Please call Sen. Al Franken at (202) 224-5641 and Sen. Amy Klobuchar at (202) 224-3244.

Make sure they know about this scheme and that they must oppose Carolyn McCarthy’s Magazine Ban every step of the way whether it’s attached as an amendment or not.

And make sure they know you’re watching.

Thanks for taking action,

Dudley Brown

While this is unrelated...I just watch Al Frankin in a hearing on insurance and Obamacare reform. Apparently he's on the one of the committees determining if Obamacare is Constitutional. He's not even an attorney and readily admitted this in the hearing.

He needs to go back to comedy and making movies. His jokes in Congress are not even funny!

Al Franken is in Comedy? Have you ever laughed at ANYTHING he's ever done?

I recall him on SNL way back in the 70s...not funny then, not funny now. Stuart Smalley? What a laugh riot. I wish Al would find himself bagging groceries down at the Foodway. Maybe that same afternoon he'd carve his name on a beam "Al Franken was here", I'm sure nobody would kick up a fuss.

I don't really buy it. What FAA bill? A quick check on govtrack.us shows 34 bills with "Federal Aviation Administration" in the content (none in the title), all have a status of "Introduced", and all are in the House, not the Senate.

Why would the Senate want to sneak in McCarthy's bill, when they already have Lautenberg's bill?

Too many inconsistencies on this one...

McCarthy is in the House, so her bill cannot be attached to a Senate bill, it would need to sponsored by someone in the Senate. I don't know if Lautenberg's bill is the Senate version of this bill or just similar.
