Handguns and Motorcycles

Recommended Posts

With the price of gas going up I was thinking about riding the bike more than normal. Would it be legal for me to travel to the range with my handgun(or 2) in one of the saddle bags on my bike? Ammo, eyes and ears in the other bag? Anyone here ever take the bike to shoot?

Are you interviewing for "Sons of Anarchy"

Really if properly transported in the saddle bags, I don't see a problem.

Go one step further and lock the cases and lock the saddle bags and eliminate the possible issues.

I've done it but never got pulled over. Then I've done a lot of **** some others would not.

I briugh this up before and all indications and what is written in the laws on transportin in this state, there is noting written that you can't.

I just follow the steps that are in the same compartment, Gun's locked in one back in a locked container, Ammo in the other bag in it's own locked container. The bag are on my Ultra and also locked. I figure i'd rather be overkill on what is actually required and be on the safe side.

I also have been riding for better then 27 years and remember riding before it was a fad and fashon thing and remember getting pulled over at least once a day (one time 6 times while in a suit on the way to work) if not more just to check frame, engine numbers, guns, knives, drugs etc just because I was on a Harley

I ride my bike to the range also, and lock my saddlebags. Two of my favorite things to do are shoot and ride, so I ride to shoot.

Really, it's a no brainer with gas prices and summer shore traffic. Found some really nice back roads to ride down to Shore Shot.
