Theyve had the M44s up for 2+ weeks now, cant believe they havent sold out yet(hmmmm might have to grab one). They had ones with laminated stocks too, but they sold out fast.

Noob question, Why is the m44 so much more expensive then the 91/30 ? Are they not " more or less " the same rifle but a tad shorter?

Less of them made. There were about 14 million 91/30's made, compared to maybe 8 million M44's.

The M44 is the compact model for concealed carry. The short barrel also serves to throw out a tremendous muzzle blast so if you don't get them with the bullet you'll scorch them with the flame.
