Mosin Nagant 91/30 Front sights off center?

Picked up a 1939 mosin nagant a few weeks ago from a member.

 

My mother actually noticed while shooting that the front sight is off the left about 1/4-1/2 inch, Im not sure if this was always the case and I never noticed and it's intentionally shifted for sighting the gun in correctly, or I maybe tossed it in to the back of my truck a little to hard one day and damaged it.

 

 

 

it was hard to depict this in a picture but if you line you head up with the rear sites you can tell.

if you shoot it and it hits the bullzeye don't worry about it

 

if you shoot it and the bullet hits right, you need to drift your sight right then

The front sight is on a dove tail and you can drift it to adjust windage. I've never notice it particularly off center but you can adjusted with a brass punch and a small hammer.

look on the front of the base and sight for alignment marks. mine has them.

Dont see any alignment marks, At 50 yards and less it shoots decent, at 100 yards im lucky to hit the target... But i am probably just a terrible shot.
