Range Report @ Range 14 today

Well today was a good day at Range 14.. got there @ 8am and met 2 nice guys today also shooting AR's..

 

I mentioned these forums to them also..

 

Took my DPMS Oracle 5.56 and 260 rounds of 5.56 and .223 ammo..

 

I shot the DPMS both standing and kneeling with just IRONS and the Bushnell Red Dot (3moa)..

 

No bag today.. just banging away.. I also banged 4" clays at 50 and 75 yards..

 

The targets are REDUCED FBI QIT with 12" Torso at widest point..

 

50 yards

 

 

and 100 yards..

 

 

some 100 yard Red Dot (@ the 8" shoot-n-see.. by 220 rounds I was getting tired I think)

 

 

If the shots look LOW they are.. I am sighted in for 200 yards on this AR..

Here is a 500 yard SIM target (torso is 2" x 3") for 50 yard usage.. 8 for 20 rounds..

 

Not bad though for IRONS.. and NOT slow firing.. IMHO..

 

 

Going to try again tommorrow in the AM.. @ 100 and 200 yards..

did you wear your mag rig?

No I wore a small 2 mag pouch that goes on a Belt with a spring clip..

 

Worked well for 2 (20/15) mags both kneeling and standing..

 

Shot 120 rounds in the first 15 minute session.. thing was smoking at first from the oil..

 

Going to bring the FLC/RIG tommorrow and try it for weight.. but I don't have the MagPuls in yet.. so I will have the 15/20's propped up..

After practicing kneeling and someone mentioning my pistol..

 

I am a RIGHTY.. so the SAW200 pack is now moved to the REAR about 7pm..

 

Also I cut off the 'excess' front FLAP 'catch' it was blocking my GRAB.

 

The Flaps themselve REMOVE (with velcro from the inside the pouch).. I removed them also.. now the mags fit a little better also without rubbing all the extra material from the FLAPS..

 

 

Thanks..yeah I might grab some TT stuff down the road..

 

I am still tweaking what I want..

Today at the Range 14.. @ 8:30am..

 

 

100 yards with 3MOA Red Dot.. 4" x 5 3/4".. with front BAG rest.

 

 

Volley #1 with just IRONS at 100 yards.. (a little LEFT).. with front BAG rest.

 

 

Volley #2 withh just IRONS at 100 yards (with adjustment).. 5" x 7" w/front BAG rest.

 

100 yards kneeling on 1 knee.. with the 3MOA Red Dot.. COM'd..

 

 

200 yards with Red Dot (which is 6" at 200 yards).. 6" x 9".. w/front BAG rest..

what scope do you use? looks like a bushnel trophy t dot

Yes. its the Bushnell Trophy 1x32 with T Dot.. (dot is 3MOA) in center top of T.
