Jon 264 Posted September 26, 2011 First off, huge thanks to mike for the invitation, guesting me into OB, and the use of his chrono. It was very much appreciated. We chrono'd my Sig P226(4.4" bbl), Browning HiPower(4.6" bbl), and HK USPc9(3.6" bbl). We also chrono'd my SKS paratrooper(16") and full-sized SKS(20" bbl). All averages were obtained from 10-shot strings. Load: American Eagle Factory 124gr fmj Sig: 1064fps average, 132 power factor Load: 4.2gr W-231, 124jhp, 1.120 oal Sig: 1010fps average - 125.6 power factor BHP: 1019fps average - 126.3 power factor HK: 984fps average - 122 power factor Load: 4.5gr W-231, 124jhp, 1.150 oal Sig: 1054fps average - 130.6 power factor BHP: 1069fps average - 132.6 power factor HK: 1056fps average - 131 power factor Wolf WPA 124gr fmj, 7.62x39 16" bbl: 2286fps average 20" bbl: 2353fps average We also chrono'd some hotter 9mm loads out of the Sig, and if you're interested in those recipes please PM me, as they exceed SAAMI specs. WSF, 124gr jhp: 1131fps average - 140.2 power factor WSF, 147gr fmj: 938fps average - 137.8 power factor W-231, 124gr jhp: 1104fps average - 136.9 power factor All in all, I'm very excited that the 4.2gr load made minor power factor, albeit barely, and I plan on using this load for teaching new shooters. The 4.5gr load had MAYBE a touch more perceived recoil, but still felt incredibly light. I'm planning on increasing the OAL out to 1.160 and making this my "do-all" 9mm round. I was also intrigued by the fact that we lost less than 70fps in going from a 20 to a 16" barreled rifle. I can't wait to get seated back in front of my press and crank out some more rounds! Maksim 1,504 Posted September 26, 2011 Jon, were these my zombie loads?
Jon 264 Posted September 26, 2011 The WSF loads, yes.
Jon 264 Posted September 26, 2011 Update... made up some 1.160 dummy loads. They feed 100% in the Sig, but result in doublefeeds in the BHP, and contact the rifling in the HK. 1.150 is as long as I can go for the BHP and HK.
Maksim 1,504 Posted September 26, 2011 Jon, I load my 9mm down to 1.120. For 124 Jhp. Iirc. I would bump up to 4.4 and it should make minor no prob.

I was figuring on having to do that... need to buy the "double disk" kit first, though. I have a chrono you can use for some fun. Cj whenever. Good deal.
