zoid 24 Posted October 27, 2011 Hey guys, I have a Kimber TLE RL II and the 22lr conversion upper for it. I found it likes CCI Minimag a lot and it does OK with CCI Blazer as well. Remington Golden bulk and Federal Bulk however jam up with just about every single magazine. Just seeing if any of you guys have the same kit and what ammo you had success with. I'd be interested in hearing what other 1911 22lr owners are shooting as well. P.S. Kinda a side question, but the dedicated Kimber 22 1911 has the exact same upper right? I handled one the other day and did not see any difference.
Jon 264 Posted October 27, 2011 I can't speak about the Kimber, but my GSG1911 runs very well on Federal Bulk, with a failure of some sort once every 10-20 mags. Never a failure with mini-mags though.

Urban Grunt 44 Posted October 27, 2011 I have a Kibmer .22 slide on 1911 and it likes Copper fed bulk/CCI.
zoid 24 Posted October 30, 2011 I have a Kibmer .22 slide on 1911 and it likes Copper fed bulk/CCI. My Federal was not copper plated. Am I missing something here? This is what my package looked like: http://www.cabelas.com/rifle-ammunition-federal-bulk-22-long-rifle-ammunition-1.shtml But the rounds came in boxes of 50 and the bullets were black in color. tony357 386 Posted October 30, 2011 You only want to use copper plated ammo in that conversion. I have an AA kit for mine and have used, cci mini mags good stuff, federal gamo 40gr copper plated, federal bulk 36gr copper plated and those have all worked great, i still have a couple thousand rounds of federal bulk for this kit it was on sale so i purchased a whole case. Is the reason non-plated stuff doesn't work because it dirties up the feed ramp?
tony357 386 Posted October 31, 2011 Is the reason non-plated stuff doesn't work because it dirties up the feed ramp? It is just very dirty, the wax on the bullets is most of the problem. the feed ramp does get very dirty with lead and wax.
Maksim 1,504 Posted October 31, 2011 Yeah I can't see why there is such a stark difference between Blazer and Fed Bulk as they are about the same quality. The difference may be the hollow point. I only shoot 40 grain federal bulk packs, as they are solid nose. no issues. the hollow point would catch in the mag. otherwise, could be a new spring... mini mags are hotter, enough to cycle guns.
