Caine 147 Posted February 10, 2012 Looks like a DDM4V1LW. I believe V1's only came in an M4 profile barrel. LW didn't come out till v4 or v5 if I remember correctly. Great rifle, cg. $1000 is a GREAT deal. DDM4V1 was my first AR and has been very good to me.

Zerosignal 1 Posted February 11, 2012 Does the Daniel defense roll mark say Savannah, GA or Black Creek, GA?
Nikos 31 Posted February 11, 2012 DDs are great, rugged guns. Put in a box with a big red boa and present it to your wife in 4 days along with a box of chocolates. If she doesn't want it, tell her that you'll keep it and she can keep the chocolates.

V2's have a standard FSB and 7" omega rail V3's have a standard FSB and 9" rail V4's have 9" rail and no front sight V5's have 12" rail and no front sight
Caine 147 Posted February 12, 2012 I stand corrected on the LW for V1 however. For sh*ts and giggles I just checked the DD site, and there it is. A V1LW: https://danieldefens...ght-barrel.html https://danieldefens...carbine-v1.html I owe you a beer, Shane. Still not sure if the M4 pictured is a LW or standard m4 profile barrel, but still appears to be a V1. Looks too thick to be LW in my opinion, but who knows
Zerosignal 1 Posted February 12, 2012 It's a newer DD if it's roll marked black creek

Caine 147 Posted February 12, 2012 They're all stamped M4 I was referring to the profile of the barrel. There's something called an "m4 profile" which refers to the cut of the barrel.
