Any other 44M SA handguns?

Recommended Posts

For reasons I can't explain, I find myself desiring a 44 magnum semi-auto handgun. I have a revolver and several lever guns in 44M, and enjoy them.

A long time ago I shot a borrowed Desert Eagle, and it was sorta crummy. It felt "gritty" and didn't operate so well. However, that was before I had a ton of handgun experience, and the owner was the kind of guy who doesn't take care of his guns, so maybe it was just a bad example.

So, a) are there any 44M s/a handguns other than Desert Eagles, and b) was my experience accurate, or are the Desert Eagles really nicer than the one I shot?

It's been 32 days, so I have the hankering.

Thanks, Dave

OK, I ordered a DE44, which should arrive either Friday or Saturday. Used the forum's FFL request and chose Bullseye Tactical because a) everyone had pretty much the same price, and b) they are the closest participating FFL to me and I've never used them before. I'll post a review as soon as I get to shoot it!

TRIVIA QUESTION: What's the difference between a Magnum Research DE44 and DE44W (other than $20). Answer without internet searching (although it's not so easy to find the answer that way, either).

Very nice! DE44 made in US, DE44W made is Israel. I spent the $20 for the US made version!

Thank you. Do you need the name of my FFL so you can transfer the prize?
