I guess I can see both sides. I don't think the big deal was her appearing in porn. However, the real issue is that it's hard to command the respect of the class when this information gets out. Plus it leaves her open to having students posting pictures of the porn in the class room, or something else.

What I find more interesting is how this was found out. I wonder if a student was taking a "break" from homework, and happened to notice the woman in the video he was watching looked an awful lot like his teacher. XD

From most of the articles I read it sounds like the students found the video though I read that an early article on the incident said it was a teacher that found it. (my guess is the article that said that was mistaken)

I understand the distraction part of why they fired her, but like I said In the OP they could have easily solved the distraction part by switching her to a lower or higher grade. So it is my opinion that they fired her primarily because of moral reasons or more to the point what they consider moral.

You can't just move a teacher to a different grade... lol. First, there is the issue surrounding what she is certified to teach, and at what level. Then there is the issue of finding a vacant position to move her to. You can't take a HS English teacher and expect them to know how to teach a 5th grade class, nor would they be certified by NJ to do so, unless they had multiple certifications. You also cannot move a teacher to a different district, no district will knowingly hire a retired porn star. The district is also not responsible for accommodating any of this, if your past rears it's ugly head, its on you NOT the district to make the necessary changes to keep your class in order.
