Ka bar fixed blade USMC knifie still US made?

Hi,

 

Is this Ka-bar fixed blade knife made in USA or China?

 

I am looking for an American made good quality, all purpose type fixed blade knife to keep in my home. I have a

budget of around $75.00 - $100.00 dollars.

 

Is this style knife illegal in NJ if you leave the house with it?

Kind of disturbing my KA-BAR knives have a made in China and made in Taiwan stamp on them. Why arent these knives produced in the USA?

While KA-BAR would prefer to manufacturer all its knives in the USA, it would be cost prohibitive to do so. The company offers many, many USA made knives and continually strives to design products that are manufacturable for a reasonable price in the states. KA-BAR also partners with reputable manufacturers in Taiwan and China. These suppliers are required to uphold the same high standards as knives manufactured in our own plant. Nothing specific to the Marine knife, so who knows.

Ok, so it looks like the one I am interested in is made in USA.

Look for one on e-bay for an older one if you want one made in the US. Anything Pre 1996, which is when the company was sold. The good old ones have a dull finish to the knife, not that shinny teflon look.

The Marine Ka-Bar is US made. The sheath is made in Mexico though.
