Going to visit some NJ shops tomorrow. Any recommendations?

A big thank you to everybody for their input! I ended up going through TJ's Sporting Arms. Tony was great to deal with and the PPQ I ended up buying was at a very fair price. It was a bit of a hike for me but well worth it for the whole experience. +1 from me for TJ's!

Brick Armory gets blasted on here but I bought my first pistol there in early March and I had a great experience. I shoot at Shore Shot and in my experience its hit or miss on the friendliness and attention of the staff. I am in the market for a 9mm and will give them a chance. We'll see.

Brick is OK if they have it in stock, the issues (massive amount of problems and complaints) come from people who have ordered something from them. Don't forget to try the other vendors here by using the "Price Quote", We have lots of Vendors like Tony at TJs Sporting Arms that are well regarded for their prices, service and friendly attitudes.

If they have it, it shouldn't be an issue... When Phil has to order it, then you see the horror stories.

Personally, I'd see if the Gallery of Guns has what you are looking for, then ship to SS. My father bought a few, and they were there in a few days. Keep in mind that all the fees are covered though the sale. SS does have a habit of attempting to charge an additional $15 on those. My father got pissed when a guy attempted it twice, even when Kenny told him both times that it is included.

Just went to the range today. Ran 200 rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. I used some cheap but dirty Remington UMC FMJs. The PPQ is certainly better than I am. Trigger is good. Easy take-up with a clean break. Unless you look for it, the reset is so short it's undetectable (in my novice hands at least). Only shitty thing I've experienced so far is availability of holsters and magazines. I just got an extra mag for around 62 bucks, shipping included. :resent:

I'd take pictures of my targets but they're too scattered to show anything helpful.

Is your PPQ a 9mm? If so, the Magnum Research magazines will work just fine. They are $32. I have six of them and have shot hundreds of rounds through them.

I am a member of Brick Armory for a couple years now and have never had a bad experience, whether making purchases, training or shooting. The owners are affable, knowledgeable and will go out of there way to make sure you have a good shooting experience. In life your attitute going in many times dictates others, keep that in mind. It's time to move on and base things on your own experiences (General statement) and not rumours of the past or regurgitated bovine excrement. Give them a look see and also Tim over at L&H (Woods & water) in Wall. He's a pleasure to deal with. Good luck and Safe shooting. Jim....out.

Personally speaking I think Lou's and especially Heritage Guild are just as high priced as the BIG stores, but I wud goto Lou's before HV. I think I got ripped off at HG, and ended up buying something I never wanted in the first place, they led me away from whY i was looking got. They the two trades I gave then they all sat around talking bad avout the trade ins I was giving the, sure enough after I sold them guys here and another site said they ripped me of. So be more knowledgeable than me be for u buy nething
