For reloading purposes is the brass any different?

 

External dimensions are the same. Military brass may be thicker, thus reducing capacity and upping pressures. Just as you would with any brass, work up to your load.

As always Bob is on the money. Just let me throw my $.02 in.

 

Yes Mil spec brass is thicker(thus less case capacity) and if the data you are using is for commercial brass I would reduce my starting loads 5-10%.

 

And for the record...Once you run that brass through your sizing die you are reloading .223 Rem not 5.56 NATO. Trim to specs for .223 Rem as normal.

 

Just remember, can't stop saying it, thicker brass less capacity less powder to start.
