rfkhunter 1 Posted July 29, 2012 Buying my first AR15, a Stag model 3. Ive noticed so m any different brands of mags, what should I get ? Not looking to break the bank, for now just casual shooting. Also can someone guide me toward decent ammo that wont break the bank. Thanks
Steve_G 51 Posted July 29, 2012 I'm happy with my PMags from Midwest. http://midwestpx.com/index.php?cPath=15_72 As far as ammo goes, just search around and see what's on sale. You can usually find PMC for a decent price. Sometimes Federal XM193 can be had under 325 a case.
Damjan 73 Posted July 29, 2012 Magpul 15/20s worked perfectly in my Stag model 4 while i had it.

Anselmo 87 Posted July 29, 2012 The 10 round metal mags have been good to me. I have a 15 round plastic Thermo mag. No problems so far but lots of complaints about them online.

jrfly3006 42 Posted July 29, 2012 +1 for Arms n Ammo. "Ana"...he's listed under vendors .. Makes great metal mags..durable..reliable and drop free...
I lost my gat piece 0 Posted July 31, 2012 another recommendation for Arms-N-Ammo mags, P mags are good too its just what you prefer in terms of looks and material.
9X19 125 Posted July 31, 2012 Arms n Ammo would be my first choice. Stag also sells 30's pinned to 10. Wish they were 15's though..
keithco88 3 Posted July 31, 2012 I just ran a class and had problems in my Stag with the MidwestPX 15/20s IF I loaded them fully to 15 rounds...first round wouldn't always strip off correctly. If loaded only to 14 rounds I never had this problem. I also ran the metal 15 rounders from Arms&Ammo and never had any issues with them. YMMV
