MedicYeti 96 Posted August 19, 2012 I saw this mentioned elsewhere but no one has done anything with it, so I'll take the inititave. I'd like to change this up each month, but I figured this month I could start easy and gauge interest. August Rules. Gun: Rimfire, 2 divisions open sights and optics Range: 50 yards Target: TQ-4(P) NRA 100 yard small bore rifle target # of Targets: 5 best Shots per Target: 10 Possible Score: 500 Slings Ok, any position, No rests, sand bags or similar - you have to hold the gun. propping your elbow on the table or the ground is fine. Before the end of the month pick up some targets and your favorite rimfire and hit the range. Total up your targets and how many X's as well as some gun info. Example: just an example I'll post my true score when I do it. MedicYeti 123 (4x) Open sights Marlin 925, 22LR
Urban Grunt 44 Posted August 19, 2012 Anyone got the target for print out?
njJoniGuy 2,133 Posted August 19, 2012 The black center of the TQ-4(P) http://www.midwayusa...-package-of-100 appears to be the same as the 100 yd Hi Power MR31 target we use for slow prone http://www.munitions...etter/h300c.pdf The rings are a bit tighter (tougher target) on the MR31, but it makes a good print-it-yourself target while you wait for your Midway order (that of course you're splitting with your buddies!) MedicYeti 96 Posted August 20, 2012 The selected target is a popular one with gun shops. I got my last pack at Dicks. Buy a bunch we will use them often. They are not going to be hard to find and NJJohnnyGuy is correct, Midway has them for cheaper then many other sites.
Motofan 10 Posted August 20, 2012 It would be more consistent if we found a link to a printable target. By the way I'm in M&P 15 22 Primary Arms Red dot
Motofan 10 Posted August 20, 2012 I'm digging through my junk drawer to see if I could find a prize to donate... so far I've found: 3 aaa batteries, a chewed piece of bubble gum, a hello kitty hair clip (daughter's, not mine..she's outgrown it though) and a black ATI cable lock (still in bag) Winners choice ! zoid 24 Posted August 20, 2012 Dibbs on the hair clip. I like the concept. I don't have a 22lr rifle or access to an outdoor range. A 25yd pistol honor match would be cool.
Medic3166 0 Posted August 24, 2012 I'll have to try it out, maybe I'll head to the WMA next week... I just revived my dad's 1976 Model
Jon 264 Posted August 25, 2012 Going to see if Dick's has these targets in stock, if not I'll be shooting on the printable target. Either way, I'll be posting my scores on Sunday night.
MedicYeti 96 Posted August 31, 2012 I hit the range yesterday afternoon and shot my 10/22 scoped and Marlin 925 Iron. Both seated using mars for support, I used a sling for the Marlin.
