M&P Gunsmith Near North Jersey? Installing Sights

Hey all,

 

I just got a special delivery from Dawson Precision. I don't have the setup to do sights replacement. Anyone know of a gunsmith that can do it up here in North Jersey?

All you need is a file,a vise, and a hammer. Check youtube. Dawson has vids about it. Not really that hard.

Vise is the part I don't have. Just having moved into this apt, I don't have any workshop space to set that bit up. Thanks though!

Thanks very much for the offer - I'll take you up on it next time around. I ended up getting a referral to Lewis at Armament Gunsmithing in Hillside and I've already called him.

Quick question, how hard is it to drift out the rear sights? I had no problem tapping out Glock sights. Just wondering if the M&P would be similar.

They can be in there pretty good, same with the front. It's doable though.

The rear is easier then the front

 

Remember the little disc and spring for the USB is under and if your not careful they will launch themselves across the room

I tried on my own without a rest or vice and it wasn't going well. So instead of trying to do the job without the right tools, I decided to bring in a Pro.

I wanted my sights done by a pro. I brought mine to George at G&S Hunters/Paterson Gunsmithing. He does a really good job with sights.
