mixing up your ammo

Just curious for those of you that store your ammo loose, do you mix different brands and types of the same caliber in the same container or keep it all seperate?

Keep them separate unless they are all the same grain and jacket

An argument for keeping ammo separate is if there is ever a problem or a recall on a lot of ammo you can pull just those rounds affected.

I keep ammo cans specifically for different guns ie AR ammo, Handgun ammo, Shotgun etc

I do keep them all in their original boxes so I know which one is which if I ever have an issue.

At the very least you should keep ammo segregated by bullet weight.

 

I never store ammo loose, always in boxes. If I have a problem I can go to the lot of factory or reloaded ammo.

Yeah, why not. But some ammo's are shoot alot dirtier than others, so that makes a difference to some people.

 

Also some firearms are picky with ammo's so thats another reason to keep them separate.

Nope, that way if I have a problem with a certain ammo, or theres a recall on a certain batch of ammo, I can take care of the problem easily and not have to sort through 1000's of rounds to find them.
