You think we should vote with our wallets & purses? Start boycotting The Journal News, owned by Gannett? How about also boycotting USAToday & the other NJ papers, owned by Gannett?

 

Without readership, their advertisers would flee.

When you stay at any hotel/motel, demand that they get rid of USAToday.

I doubt if many people subscribe to those papers in the first place. It's their dwindling readership that is encouraging them to voice such a strong opinion. I think they don't mind showing their anti-gun sides because so much of NJ is anti gun. They're trying to appeal to the readership. I don't think it matters though, boycott or not they no longer have a valid business model.

I haven't purchased a newspaper in over a decade. The 'net has supplanted dead tree media.

Truth is, printed news is on it's way out anyway. Whether or not gun owners boycott them is likely irrelevant.

I've got a better idea. Instead of boycotting the newspapers (that's a good idea already) boycott the advertisers.

 

As an example, I know that Boscovs (local retailer) advertises a lot in the Asbury Park Press (wife buys if for the coupons). I'm going to send a note to them (boscovs) letting them know my displeasure that I'm a gun owner who's unhappy that they are supporting a company (Asbury Park Press) who feels its OK to publish lists of gun owners.
