1000 YARD RANGE

A friend of mine told me today that GunforHire is going to be opening a 1000 yard range in south jersey.

Has anyone else heard this? I looked on their website and didnt see anything.

I got to shoot on a 500yd range at ft dix when i belonged to the 44th infantry DCM. It was a man operated target your partner raised and lowered your target and reported back the hits from a foxhole. that day was fun as hell, did well with the m1 garande.

This is something i would be interested in.

The existing 600yd range at Cumberland Riflemen is equipped with pits and operates like Tony describes.

The new 1000 yd range is planned for South Jersey Shooting Club in Winslow, but is still more than a year away from reality.

Isn't there technically a "road" right behind the current berm that they have to get permission to build over or something?

Gunforhire uses SJSC. SJSC has had plans on the table for 1000yd range for some time now. So I suspect this is what is being referenced.
