Would like your opinion of this rife I know the mag will have to go or be pinned but cant tell if theres a lug on it ,and do you think its a good price for a used rifle .If it is something that can be made NJ compliant what ffl dealers can do the work .Thanks John

I have one, they are great rifles and are somewhat collectable since they havent been made since the early 2000's. Unlike a wasr, the build quality is much higher and they are on Romanian hi-cap dimpled receivers, not a US receiver and not a dremeled out WASR receiver. They are the only guns that could be made into a proper AIMS-74 clone due to the hybrid gas block (45* block on a 74 is unique to the AIMS-74). They are NJ legal out of the box with no lug and no threads (unless of course they were added, but does not appear so).

but don't overpay!! for the prices that are going around nowadays u mite as well throw couple more dollars at it and get urself a saiga based one....

Well, the SAR-2 is unique as I said and is the only rifle able to be made into an AIMS-74 clone, although I doubt thats the objective.

 

I'de rather have this than a Saiga any day. Especially since I paid less than $400 for it

I have a SAR-1. Love it. Not a single problem with the function of the rifle. I refinished the wood stock. Finish on the metal parts could be better but it doesn't bother me. Think I paid $300 for mine in 2002.

i have 2 sar 2,...they are some of the best 5.45 rifles you can get. I also have an arsenal 5.45 too...i prefer the sar. I have a nib one that i hunted down because i liked it that much
