Anyone own one? Looking at a 223, but not sure if I can get NJ compliant (fixed stock).

IMHO, They are the best out there. Never owned a Surgeon factory built rifle but own a few custom built rigs on Surgeon actions. Smooth as butta and built like tanks. Surgeon built rifle will give you a Krieger barrel, Jewell trigger, and a Mcmillan or AICS stock. I like Manners stocks and prefer Bartlein barrels so I have had riflesmiths build mine with these parts. Its just my preference thats all.

 

You do not need a fixed stock on a bolt action rifle. You only need a fixed stock on semi auto rifles like the AR15.

Yeah man I started lusting on these bad boys when I was looking for an AICS stock about 1-1.5 months ago. Couldn't find what I wanted and I KNEW if I waited I would spend the money elsewhere which I did.

 

Really amazing really. Something I will never have but will always admire.

 

 

 

(I think I personally would maybe go Sako TRG if I went the purchase-an-exotic-rifle-route but I am not an expert on the particulars of comparison between the two, I just have ALWAYS liked the Sako TRG's ... looks like Surgeons are more money but I still like Sako for some reason.)

Sweet. I was looking at the same one on their site in 6.5 Creedmoor. I shot one in 260 Rem last month and it was everything I expected. It was in the AX chasis as well.
