Can you purchase ammo with old fpid while waiting for your new one?

Here is my issue, I am down to a few hundred rounds and as everyone knows buying online is almost impossible right now. I haven't gone to any LGS's due to the fact that I moved a few months ago and Edison PD is taking its sweet time with my newest application process (since January I have been waiting) and I know they log flies for amo purchases. Anyway, outside of my address change my old fpid would be valid ... Does anyone know if I would be able to purchase ammo using my old fpid or if I'm stuck conserving what I have left until Edison decides to hand me my new card?

FPID is only required for handgun ammo purchases. Of course, if it's handgun ammo you're after, I'd wait till it clears. Wouldn't want to get jammed up over something like that.

Yeah it is handgun ammo, I don't want to complicate things either so ill just wait it out. Funniest part is that a cop was the one who told me to use my old one lol.

Yes, I still have the current fpid, only thing is that the address no longer matches my license because of moving.

They dont ask for you for DL when just buying ammo.....

I've never showed a DL for an ammo purchase and have used a FID with old address several times for ammo.

If I'm not mistaken, showing FPID when buying ammo is just so your name and number are put in the book...... Its only a log and goes no where but under the dealers counter.

FPID cannot be taken away from you without an order from a judge. So just moving doesn't mean anything. This whole DL matching FPID may be required by the police for a gun purchase but it doesn't mean the card is not valid.
