Tack Tickle 0 Posted May 11, 2013 Unless that's a 458, it's definitely a flash supressor, TAKE THE PICS DOWN!!! It doesn't look like it's permanently welded and pinned on there either... The A2 is solid on the bottom... Looks like that one slipped through the FFL's crack(s)... Looks like a bayo lug too... I'd give them a call and see what the dilly is!!! High Exposure 5,671 Posted May 11, 2013 I don't think a2's are solid on the bottom though A2 flash hiders are definitely solid on the bottom. Keeps the dust/dirt/debris under the barrel from flying all around when you fire. It also acts as a mediocre recoil compensator by directing the expanding gasses up. Ten9ofhearts 0 Posted May 11, 2013 Just left the ffl and it's legal. Bayonet lug is shaved down an the flash hider has a washer welded to make it legal. Nervous for a minute. They showed and explained everything to me. Maybe u just couldn't see the weld and filed down lug

Tack Tickle 0 Posted May 11, 2013 Good to hear! Yeah, noone here is trying to bust on you at all. NJ is very strict and just want to make sure you are safe and legal. So like I said at the beginning of the post... If you want to shoot that bad boy outdoors, get some sun and align those sights, hit me up!

jackandjill 683 Posted May 11, 2013 Search amazon for "Competition Short Break". You may want to get one of those depending on what you are looking for and price range.
Ten9ofhearts 0 Posted May 11, 2013 Search amazon for "Competition Short Break". You may want to get one of those depending on what you are looking for and price range. I'm not looking to buy a new one. My ffl said it was pinned and welded and nj compliant.

Ten9ofhearts 0 Posted May 12, 2013 That's legal right. With the washer or whatever they use welded around it.
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted May 12, 2013 So they took and a2 and welded a washer to the end of it? Is the actual muzzle device welded and pinned to the barrel?

Shawnmoore81 623 Posted May 12, 2013 Strange. Seems like a lot of labor for a simple fix. But if its legal why not. You'll like the gun. I'm a big sig fan
