Wrong S\N listed on P2PP

Hello,

 

Finally bought my first gun today. 8 month process with permit renewal and market conditions.

 

One hiccup. I got home and realized the serial number was listed incorrectly on the permit. Called the FFL and he made the correction on his copy and the ones that go to NJSP. He advised me to cross out the wrong number and enter the correct one on my copy and he would do the same before sending them down to Trenton. 

 

He is respected and a very reputable FFL so I trust his position on this. My only concern would be the NJSP having issues with the original crossed out and the correct one written in the box.

It's not a problem. I did the same thing on my paper work and got a call from the state police and they are the ones who told me to cross it out and call my local pd and tell them to do the same.

It does happen.. Just single line through wrong serial is acceptable
