The FSC 556 is one of the few (maybe the only one) muzzle attachments with a letter from the ATF stating they are such, a vestige of the AWB days of the 90's.

The ATF no longer does this since the national AWB expired.

i recall reading somewhere that this was NJ legal... In fact I even remember seeing a pic with that comp on there in a thread labeled pic of NJ legal rifles or something like that. Got to search for it now  lol

I have used a few comps and the one I liked the best and I thought worked the best is the Griffin M4SDII (see link)

Mu guess would be, that this is not NJ legal since it says it accepts a variety of suppressors.  I believe, the muzzle device can not be suppressor attachment friendly.
