checko 180 Posted January 14, 2014 Looking for a kydex/hybrid holster for general carry outside of jersey. I'm leaning towards the theis (maybe the EZ clip) over the raven but I see that the raven is pretty popular. Any particular reason for that? anyone have both? High Exposure 5,670 Posted January 14, 2014 Raven Concealment only makes all kydex holsters. Never heard of Theis.... I like CompTac for hybrid type IWB. Very comfortable and secure. They also make my favorite OWB mag pouches for CCW/discrete carry.

I guess a better way to ask my q question would be what if any are the benefits to having a full kydex holster? Seems like price, and comfort go to hybrid. frankv64 0 Posted January 14, 2014 I have 3 Theis holsters for my G26 and G19. The quality is excellent and I would recommend

NYMetsFan86 9 Posted January 14, 2014 Theis is very comfortable to me. I've only used it to carry mt pt809 in PA once so far but I like it. i was unsure of which hide to get though, i think i ended up just getting cowhide.

Shocker 151 Posted January 14, 2014 I have a theis. Come to another IDPA match I'll show you. I like the horsehide backer because it conforms to me nicely. As IWB there's nothing between the backer and me besides my undies, so id rather not have rigid kydex...but admittedly I've not tried it.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted January 15, 2014 carry on a theis EVERY day.. no issues.. I got it several years ago.. My 27 is in his gallery..
checko 180 Posted January 15, 2014 carry on a theis EVERY day.. no issues.. I got it several years ago.. My 27 is in his gallery.. Can you give me a pro vs con lol. I can't get a apples to apples comparison.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted January 15, 2014 I had a raven.. so I actually can compare.. Theis VERY comfortable concealed carry holster holds gun without issue limited carry options.. you are carrying IWB... raven rigid kydex is definitely less comfortable.. allows for carry both on the belt AND IWB... for comfort.. THEIS all day long... for versatility (where you might want to carry on the belt as well) then Raven... for what its worth this is the holster that got me to give up my Raven setup... checko 180 Posted January 15, 2014 Danke. I don't see myself carrying owb much so looks like theis is the way to go. Any experience on the ez clip?

I hear its thinner and more comfortable. Thanks for the offer. If I come out again I'll let you know.
Shocker 151 Posted January 15, 2014 Horsehide might be thinner but it is definitely stiff as hell when it's brand new. But it breaks in nicely. I liked A) it doesn't absorb sweat as readily, and B) its not dyed. Huh...that EZ Clip model is new to me. I think I might have gotten that if I saw it back when I was ordering. Looks nice for a tiny gun (I have a Shield) but you'd probably want the classic model for a mid-to-full size gun

checko 180 Posted January 17, 2014 I sent mr theis an email about what he thinks about the ppq in the ez clip holster.
