Was talking the bs with some freinds and we all agree we love our mosins for screwing around. Got me thinking could it be done to convert a revolver to 7.62x54r. Wonder what that would be like.

You would need a pretty long cylinder.  I don't think that a Judge or Governor even has a long enough cylinder.

You would need the 3" cylinder length judge, then you would need to create a new cylinder to contain a bottleneck cartridge.  On top of that, the bullet would "jump" between the cylinder and barrel which is not typically desired with a rifle type round.

 

I can imagine the flame cutting that would occur, I know what the blast out of an M44 looks like.  It would be "pretty impressive" and potentially "dangerous" coming out of a revolver.

 

Then you have the recoil.  The recoil in a 7.5-9 lb rifle is pretty stout, I can't imagine what it would be in a revolver.

I suspect you would have a ton of un-burnt powder spewing out the front... so yeah not a great idea IMO.
