If you're looking to do an intro to handgun course on a budget, this is an option. The instructors are friendly, it's half the price of GFH, easy to sign up on short notice, and they give you a few free range sessions to use afterwards. Minuses: it isn't exactly the most luxurious range and you'll only shoot .22lr caliber.

How would this course compare to NRA "1st steps Pistol?" (Done that already).

It's an equivalent course, geared towards someone that's never fired a gun before. As an FYI, the pictures are somewhat misleading. While I believe they hold their long gun courses at an outdoor range (somewhere in upstate NY I think), this class is held in a basement-like indoor range.
